I think I saw you in my dreams
You were soft and tender
The memory of you runs deep
I will always remember
There’s a version of me I haven’t seen in a while
Somwhere way in the distance is a boy still with his smile
Don’t let the waves get too near him
Keep him close to your heart
And if you should get to see him
Tell him I’m not that far
I think I saw you in my dreams
You were soft and tender
The memory of you runs deep
I will always remember

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
